LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear Supporters & Friends of GMoA

I am hoping to see you at our next opening reception on January 12, 2024 from 5PM – 8PM, when we start off what is to be another great year at the Garrett Museum of Art. This exhibition, from the G. David Thompson Collection at Peru Community Schools Art Gallery, features Miro, Braque, and Robert Weaver (painter of the American circus) and other 20th century painters of note. In the Spotlight Gallery, some of our collection of Native American inspired art, gifted to the museum by Greg Slyford for our Permanent Collection, will be on display.

I am happy to let everyone know that Angela Green, Gallery Coordinator and myself, have photographs that were chosen to be on display in Athens, Greece, at the Blank Wall Gallery! This exhibition of black and white photographs from artists all over the world will be on display in February 2024.

On a closer to home note, Angela and I are thrilled to announce an upcoming exhibition of our photographs and writing at the Jeffrey Krull Gallery at the downtown library in Fort Wayne. The opening reception is on January 6, 2024 from 3PM – 5PM, and we would love to see you there. The exhibition, Collected Revelations: Edge of Visibility and Spaces, will feature selections from our two most recent books, Simplicity and Spaces. I am very excited to be starting a new year of art and exhibitions and hope everyone had a joyful and peaceful holiday!

See you soon,
