2024 Downtown Christmas Parade

The Downtown Auburn Christmas Parade is coming soon! We invite you to participate with a float, dance group, horse-drawn wagon or sleigh, cars, choirs, bands, civic organizations, church groups, school groups, and more. Please note: Santa and Mrs. Claus are already included at the end of the parade, so they cannot be part of any entries.

Make your entry shine with lights!

Parade Details:

• Line-up Location: DeKalb County Fairgrounds
• Arrival Time: All entries must be at the Fairgrounds by 6:15 PM for line-up. (Please allow time to get everyone in position.)
• Entry Form Deadline: Drop off completed forms at Carbaugh Jewelers in downtown Auburn by Saturday, November 23rd.
• Prizes: Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in three categories.

Guidelines for Parade Entries:

• No vehicles allowed on the Fairgrounds before 5:00 PM.
• Only parade entries are permitted; no other vehicles. Please inform all participants. No exceptions.
• Participants can be dropped off at the main gate. Scouts: Make sure your group knows where to meet or has a clear troop number, as there may be confusion with multiple groups.
• No throwing candy from floats or vehicles. Candy may only be handed out by people walking alongside the parade entry.
• Santa and Mrs. Claus will not be allowed in any parade entry. There is only one Santa, and he will be at the end of the parade.
• Your line-up position and number will be provided upon arrival.
• Identification: Each parade entry must display visible identification (e.g., “Boy Scout Troop 169 – Auburn”).
• Judging: Judging will occur at Bassett Office Furniture. Please do not stop during judging, and maintain space between your entry and the one ahead of you. Categories include:
  • Creativity
  • Theme
  • Enthusiasm
  • Overall Presentation
• Parade Route: The parade will end at Court Yard Park (7th & Cedar Streets, downtown Auburn). After the parade, parade participants will be directed to a parking lot adjacent to the park.
• Awards Ceremony: A holiday program and awards ceremony will follow the parade in the park.
